SAMANTHA Crawford of North Sydney had good reason to develop her own natural skin care range - she had spent too many years looking in the mirror at her own red and inflamed face.

Miss Crawford has been living with eczema since she was a baby.

When she reached her 20s, Miss Crawford began trying every skin product under the sun.

“The amount of products I tried was phenomenal - I’d be at the department store every weekend,” she said.

“I would have a red, itchy face from my forehead to the bottom of my neck and sometimes all over my body.

“I was allergic to nearly everything in the 20th century.”

Miss Crawford spent more than 14 years researching her own condition and through trial and error, working out what skincare she could use and what she could eat.

“Even some headache pills have artificial colouring,” she said.

Miss Crawford discovered that natural products were the key to solving her skin problems and about 18 months ago, developed her only skin care range.

She has called the range Sada, which is Japanese for pure.

“I believe the products you put on your skin are as important as what you put into your body,” she said.

In accordance with therapeutic goods’ guidelines, Miss Crawford produces the skincare products based on natural oils such as macadamia oil and Seabuckthorne oil.

Other ingredients include pure Kangen water and green tea extract.

The products don’t contain any chemicals or chemical solvents, or artificial preservatives.

The range includes cleansers, moisturisers, intensive eye cream and exfoliant.

Miss Crawford said Sada caters for either sensitive, oily skin which is more her skin type or for normal, more mature skin that doesn’t have special needs.

“Apart from the occasional flare up from eating the wrong thing, my skin is now under control and looking great,” she said.
